The magic of dreams

The backdrop of my childhood, with only seven houses dotting the landscape and no-one around growing up as an only child, set the stage for a dreamer to emerge.

The pivotal moment came when my father, a self-taught software developer, presented me with a computer he had meticulously assembled as a Christmas gift when I was just six years old. Unwrapping the gift revealed not just a machine but a portal to endless possibilities. I can still feel the thrill of those early moments as I stared at the keyboard and screen, eager to unravel the secrets within.

With a patient smile, my father handed me a piece of paper with commands to MS-DOS. Although I had no idea what I was doing at first, I would spend hours creating, renaming and deleting directories just for the fun of it. As the years passed, my father became my guide, introducing me to programming in Delphi. And soon after I found myself creating my first applications with a GUI.

Approaching 40 years of age now, the fire of that initial excitement still burns within me. The magic of building things has never faded; it has only grown stronger with time. The sense of wonder, the joy of seeing dreams materialize in the digital world. These feelings are as real as when I was just a kid playing around.

In a world that often rushes forward, the small village in Denmark serves as a reminder that the roots of our passions run deep. Each line of code, every project undertaken, echoes the spirit of that young dreamer. As I embark on new endeavors with DocDriven, I carry with me the lessons learned in that tiny village — a testament to the enduring magic of creation and the timeless joy of bringing dreams to life.
